Carly Owens Weiss is a multidisciplinary artist based in Boulder, Colorado. All of her pieces have been designed and, using high-quality materials, embroidered entirely by her own hands. Immense care and the implementation of fine craft ensure that all embroideries are created to a high standard. Color, texture and playful motifs drive Carly's designs to create truly unique pieces of hand embroidery.
Carly first discovered hand embroidery when she studied abroad in the United Kingdom in 2016. While there, she studied Jacobean crewelwork and goldwork embroidery at the Royal School of Needlework. Ever since then, she hasn't stopped stitching and was even selected as a finalist for the prestigious Hand & Lock Prize for Embroidery in 2017.
Her mission is to preserve the art of hand embroidery and practice this craft in a manner that is mindful and ethical. In an age where life and technology seems to be moving so fast, it is important not to forget the beauty of fine craft and the capability of the human hands.
